Trunk or Treat

It was SUPER!!  The Lord really blessed a fantastic night of community outreach with our Trunk or Treat!  The weather was beautiful, the cars were decorated wonderfully, and the crowd was spectacular!  We estimated that we had around 100 people from the community come trick or treating.  Not only did the kids who came have a great time seeing the decorated cars and getting candy, but those from the church who brought their car and candy had a great night of fellowship!  A huge thanks to everyone I don’t know individually who brought candy and to those who brought their car:  Jon & Sasha Tsengauras, Bob& Marilyn Schneider (and Vicky Gilmer for her vehicle), Stew & Elaine Drake, Peggy

& Rich Wakeman, Kristen, Cassy, Becky, & Amanda Eidson, Mindy Wakeman and her

Lightening McQueen Car, Becky & Sarah Hook (aka Elvis), Barb Sloan, Bill & Becky Selby, LeeAnn & Amanda Sullivan, Abel & Kathi Ramirez, Linda Daly, Karen Kammerzell, and Ed & Shirley Kammerzell.  It was determined that the two best decorated cars were Mindy’s Lightening McQueen and LeeAnn’s Wizard of Oz and the yellow brick road, and the best costume goes to Sarah Hook.  She made the BEST “older” Elvis and we have pictures to prove it!

We have much to be thanking God for and celebrating about in your Kids Hope Ministry!!

 

Now, I know there are always things to be grateful for, but we have been VERY blessed and we ask that you join us in sending up prayers of gratitude.  We have received word that Kids Hope has received BOTH grants that we applied for.  One is from the Congregational Mission and Partnership Workgroup of our Presbytery for $2,000.  Kathi wrote for the other one from the Littler Youth Fund.  I don’t know the details on that, but it was reported in the Greeley Tribune.  We are absolutely thrilled and feel like it is a nice affirmation for our ministry.  Praise the Lord!

We are off to a great start with our students and will work on planning a Christmas party with them.

A big thank you to Becky Hook, our substitute mentor for covering for me during the two weeks I was in Alaska.
